Is Hobnob Tours taking bookings during the coronavirus pandemic?
I am now taking bookings for my St James', Mayfair, Westminster and Southwark tours.

I am delighted to say that Hampton Court is open following the coronavirus pandemic and I am taking bookings for that too - tours follow a strict one-way system through the palaces which gives the chance to see highlights of Henry VIII's and William III's palaces and the Georgian Rooms. Not all rooms on the route will be open. Entry is by timed ticket only and the process for booking time and tickets is described in the 'Bookings' section of the website.
Are you taking additional measures to keep members of the tour group safe during the pandemic?
I am only accepting bookings from family units of up to 5 people until further notice meaning that each tour group will comprise 6 people - 5 guests and me! My aim is to maintain, where possible, a 2 metre distance from everyone in the group during the tour; where this is not possible, a 1+ metre distance will be kept.
I will clean my hands before the start of a tour and will carry hand sanitiser with me for my use throughout the tour. I ask tour group members to bring their own hand sanitiser with them as sharing mine could increase the spread of infection between us.
I hope you will understand that I will not shake hands at the beginning or end of the tour which will be the hardest thing to do as it is my natural instinct to do just that!
It might also be a good idea for tour group members to bring some paper towel with them - if a visit needs to be made to a public toilet, drying hands on paper towels might be the safest option.
I will not wear a mask during the tour because it will be hard for tour group members to hear what I am saying. If this causes you concern, please do not book a tour with me at the moment.
Are special payment arrangements in place during the pandemic?
Yes. If you are planning a trip to London, do book a tour to hold the date but only pay for the tour one week before it is due to start. That way, if it is not possible for the tour to go ahead for any reason, it is easy to cancel if no payment has been made.

What happens if it rains?
The tour will go ahead whatever the weather - bring waterproofs, sensible shoes and an umbrella and you won’t even notice! Funnily enough, it doesn’t seem to rain very often!
How far do we walk on a tour?
This varies from walk to walk but as a rule of thumb, no more than 2-3 miles.
Can I rearrange the date?
Yes, no problem. Telephone to rearrange at least one week ahead of the date of the booking.
What is the cancellation policy?
If a tour is cancelled on the date of the booked tour, 100% of the tour fee is payable. There is currently no charge for cancellations before the date of the tour.
What if we are running late on the day of the tour?
When you confirm a booking with me, I will give you my mobile number so call me to let me know. I try my best to accommodate delays but whether I can or not will depend on my other commitments on the day.
How does Hobnob Tours meet its obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)?
We receive, collect and store any information you provide us. In addition, we collect the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet; login; e-mail address; password; computer and connection information and purchase history. We may use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods used to browse away from the page. We also collect personally identifiable information (including name, email, password, communications); comments, feedback, product reviews, recommendations, and personal profile.
When you conduct a transaction on our website, as part of the process, we collect personal information you give us such as your name, address, email address and mobile number. Your personal information will be used for the specific reasons stated above only.
Hobnob Tours is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.
We may contact you to notify you regarding your account, to troubleshoot problems with your account, to resolve a dispute, to collect fees or monies owed, to poll your opinions through surveys or questionnaires, to send updates about our company, or as otherwise necessary to contact you to enforce our User Agreement, applicable national laws, and any agreement we may have with you. For these purposes we may contact you via email, telephone, and text messages.
